FILM: OCTOPUSSY

YEAR: 1983

SUNG BY: RITA COOLIDGE

COMPOSED BY: JOHN BARRY

FILM PLOT OUTLINE: 007 uncovers a complicated and elaborate plan to detonate a nuclear bomb at a US base in Germany. With the likely outcome that the USA would be blamed for the “accident”, Russia will be free to attack Western Europe. At least that is the plan of mad Orlov - a Soviet General.

STARRING: Roger Moore as James Bond Maud Adams Louis Jordan Steven Berkoff

MEMORABLE BECAUSE: Bond escapes the Caribbean air base in a small airplane contained in a horsebox. He then stops off at a petrol station when fuel runs a bit low.

INTERESTING MUSICAL FACTS: The title “All Time High” was given to the title song of Octopussy mainly because “Octopussy” was considered too risqué a name. Also, from a lyrist point of view, how on Earth could you rhyme or fit the word in?!

INTERESTING FILM FACTS: Octopussy was competing with the unofficial Bond film “Never Say Never Again” at this time and there was a very public “Battle of The Bonds”. Sean Connery and Roger Moore tried to play it down, but in the end Never Say Never Again was delayed.

Since you are clearly a keen spy, you must be alert for more more information. Here's a clue.
