Die Another Day

NAME OF SONG: DIE ANOTHER DAY

FILM: DAY ANOTHER DAY

YEAR: 2002

SUNG BY: MADONNA

COMPOSED BY: MADONNA

FILM PLOT OUTLINE: Bond is betrayed by someone inside MI6 and left out to dry in North Korea. When MI6 receives reports that he is leaking information under interrogation they trade him for another prisoner and Bond is told he isn’t fit to work for MI6. He sets out to clear his name and find the traitor.

STARRING: Pierce Brosnan as James Bond Halle Berry Toby Stephens

MEMORABLE BECAUSE: Bond is captured and tortured showing us a totally different side to Bond – he isn’t indestructible after all. Unfortunately, the Bond makers took us to a whole new level of CGI and an invisible car, ultimately a step too far for Bond and his faithful following.

QUOTE “A palace of ice..You should feel right at home.”

“Vodka Martini. Plenty of ice..if you can spare it.”

GADGETS Invisible car

INTERESTING MUSICAL FACTS: The song divided opinion like none before it. Hated by long standing Bond fans, loved by the younger generation the end result is a dance track that is completely on its own in terms of a Bond song.

INTERESTING FILM FACTS: Madonna is the first person to record a Bond song and appear in the film. Brosnan appeared for the final time as Bond. He wasn’t happy with the results of this film and felt the emphasis fell to heavily on CGI and not raw story. He publicly slated the film and was sacked from the next film. The producers claimed he was asking for an extortionate amount of money to do it, but he claimed they never asked him.
