CASINO ROYALE

NAME OF SONG: YOU KNOW MY NAME

FILM: CASINO ROYALE

YEAR: 2006

SUNG BY: CHRIS CORNELL

COMPOSED BY: CHRIS CORNELL/DAVID ARNOLD

FILM PLOT OUTLINE:

STARRING: Daniel Craig as James Bond

MEMORABLE BECAUSE: A total U-turn from the recent Bond films which were leaning more and more towards CGI. Almost every scene in the film is refreshingly believable and shot for real.

QUOTE “You’re not my type” “Intelligent?” “Single”

GADGETS None

INTERESTING MUSICAL FACTS: The song for this film was a very deliberate attempt to move away from previous Bond music and therefore it doesn’t contain any Bond quotes either in the song or in the score of the film. The film is about Bond becoming 007 and we don’t even get to hear the Bond Theme until the very end of the film.

INTERESTING FILM FACTS: For the first time ever, there is no Miss Moneypenny, no gadgets or Q branch, and no James Bond Theme for most of the movie. Daniel Craig was absolutely slated from the minute he took on the role of 007, but when he finally made his appearance on screen he rammed it all back down the critic’s throats.
